Enemies

"An enemy is a person whose story we have not heard."
This quote by Gene Knudson Hoffman whom is an Quaker peace activist. His quote really got me thinking about how defensive people are with others throughout life. Us as human beings never open to any one throughout our life time because of "fear." But fear of what? Fear of getting hurt? Fear of being embarrassed? It all leads down to self esteem of one. As a girl I can personally say that we judge others by either their looks or what they have heard, and when we suddenly meet another person of whom we know absolutely nothing of, we freak out. We do not trust them, we make them feel inferior and maybe perhaps that unknown person whom we did not give a chance, can end up being of one the most influencing and amazing persons you can meet. They say the grass is greener on the other side, go see for yourself.

  1. I agree with you, we always tend to misjudge people in seconds. It is sad that this happens because we are not judges and we have made mistakes as well therefore we also have imperfections.

  2. Nobody is perfect.... and people that judge right away from the looks are in a way ignorant... and people should just try to get to know the person...this quote also made me think and I do think we shouldn't judge if we do not know their stories their bakground and what they have actually been through

  3. I agree with your ideas on how we judge by their looks. Many times we just don't want to get near that person because of they way we think they are, but everyone in unique in a way and I think we can really learn from each individual if we just take the time to know them.
